Conference History

Since 1989, the Central European Conference (CEC) is organized by the Rajk László College for Advanced Studies in every second year, inviting students and teachers from all over Europe. The conference has always served as a meeting point for university students specialized in the fields of business studies, economics and social sciences. Since the beginnings, topics were concerned with the examination of the social and economic situation of the Central and Eastern European region for a long time. Though, the region remained important regarding to the attendants and topics of the conferences, globalization affected CEC too. After Hungary joined the European Union, members of the Erasmus generation took over the conferences. Participants from Western Europe and outside of the continent appeared and the subjects of CEC became more general.  The next conference aims to reach a healthy balance between Central European issues and contemporary global problems.
